Shelly Graves

Head of school

My name is Rachelle (Shelly) Graves. I am a 30 year plus educator with a passion for virtual school. I’m excited to offer families and students a flexible alternative to traditional schooling. I love thinking outside the box and looking for challenging, authentic learning experiences. I have found the platform of online learning to be very rewarding, and appreciate the connections our team has made with families over the years. When I’m not in my office, you can find me outdoors. I enjoy helping on our family farm and ranch, watching rodeos, and playing with my grandkids.

Kylie Sanders

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

I am a born and raised Okie! I was born in Duncan, OK and moved to the city area in 2000. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Degree from Oklahoma Christian University and completed my masters in Education Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I currently live in Guthrie with my husband and 2 sons. My husband is a football coach (Go Bluejays) and we attend Memorial Road Church of Christ. I enjoy sports and being with friends and family. In my free time you’d find me trying to keep my plants alive, watching any sporting event on TV or in person, and unfortunately, shopping. Fun fact: I eat ice cream with a fork.

I am starting my 13th year in education and I love it because you get a chance to show kids that school can and should be fun. Students get one chance at their education and it is my mission and goal to make any school I am a part of providing the best education for our students because they are our future.

Lynette Anderson

Information Technology

I have spent the past 15 years working in education, supporting students, staff, and school operations in meaningful and practical ways. I joined ESVCA in 2019 and currently work in Information Technology, where I focus on systems support, organization, and ensuring technology is accessible and reliable for our school community.

Before transitioning into education, I worked for 10 years in the medical field after earning my X-ray certification from Langston University. That experience strengthened my attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to helping others—skills I continue to use daily in my work at ESVCA.

I was born in California but have spent most of my life in Oklahoma. I have been married for 29 years and am the proud parent of one daughter. Outside of work, I am an avid animal lover and caregiver to three dogs and seven cats, all rescues, as well as two birds. I have also served as a Special Olympics coach during my time working in brick-and-mortar education, an experience that remains especially close to my heart.

I am passionate about learning, supporting others, and contributing to a positive, well-organized educational environment where both students and staff can succeed.

Kadee Carter

High School Teacher

I grew up in Oklahoma, but started my teaching career in Kansas shortly after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2010. I earned my Master of Education Degree from FHSU in 2015, while teaching a combination of special education and general education classes. I love creating inclusive learning environments that help accommodate a wide range of learners. I’m looking forward to connecting with my students and helping them utilize their strengths while learning at their own pace. Outside of school, you can find me in a gym somewhere watching my kids play basketball, volleyball, and cheer!

Katie Bayless

Middle School Teacher

I graduated from Wellington High School before attending Southwestern College in Winfield, KS. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education, I began working in Wichita Public Schools as an English Language Arts teacher. I then completed a Masters of Education for Educational Leadership from Baker University while serving in various leadership roles within the district. Having the opportunity to teach virtually and see the benefits it provides students and families has been exciting and rewarding! Outside of teaching, you can find me listening to podcasts, walking my corgi, and playing tennis!

Kyley Long

Elementary School Teacher

Hello! My name is Kyley Long, it’s so nice to meet you!  I have been a Kansas City native since birth. I graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School, and then Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Education. I am currently finishing up my Masters in Elementary Curriculum from Pittsburg State University.  I live with my husband and toddler son; we’re expecting our second boy in October!

I’m reminded daily how fortunate I am to have found ESVCA and be a part of it. I love that we have entered a time where students and families can experience non-traditional learning opportunities in ways that work best for them. There are so many wonderful possibilities for myself as an Educator, as well as for students.

When I have a little free time, I love binging shows and reading, especially Fiction/Historical Fiction. Most of my time is spent hanging out with a three-year-old, and that’s pretty great, too.

Trina Driver

Special Education Teacher

I’m Trina Driver, a dedicated Special Education teacher at eSchool Virtual Charter Academy in Kansas. Teaching is not just my career—it’s my passion. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Criminology from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s degree in Education from Oklahoma State University.

Over the past 19 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching multiple subjects and grade levels, from Pre-K to high school, with a special love for Math and Science. I’ve been tutoring since high school and still enjoy helping students unlock those “lightbulb moments.”

Outside the classroom, my world revolves around my family—my husband, our daughter, and our wonderful assortment of animals: dogs, mini donkeys, rabbits, chickens, and fish. You’ll often find me at the ice rink cheering on my daughter, who is a competitive figure skater, or enjoying the outdoors, swimming, playing with the animals, or relaxing by the lake.

My teaching philosophy is simple: inspire lifelong learning, build confidence, and help every student see their potential and worth. Learning should be meaningful, supportive, and even a little fun along the way.
